We will be travelling over to Taiwan as a team and staying with all the athletes and officials from the other countries. I'm looking forward to meeting people from all over the world. The race itself is on the 30th June with the opening ceremony on the 29th and the closing the following day.
Yesterday was quite exciting as I submitted my sizes for the Australian uniform which looks fantastic. Of course the real reason I want to go is so I can get an Australian Tracksuit... States, Nationals, Worlds... It's always been about the Jacket ;)
On top of the excitement though I'm in the thick of my hardest semester at uni, and combined with now having to feed and clean up after myself, it's been a killer. At the moment I'm hanging on for dear life to the fact I have 4 weeks of madness left, then 2 and a half weeks of 100% focus on Taiwan. As much as I'd love to be heading over in the fittest and fastest state I could possibly be, realistically uni is getting in the way. Given the stress of this semester I have decided to race for the experience and enjoy every moment regardless of how interrupted my preparation over the next couple of weeks is. Of course I still endeavour to train as much and as well as I can and race my heart out but I'm not going to beat myself up and let myself think about what more I could have done had uni not been so time consuming. After all, it is the world UNI champs, and with only 1 more course required for me to graduate, it would be a waste of all my previous effort to let my marks slide.
More updates to come soon but for now I’m off to bed to
catch up on some much needed sleep. :)
